Should we all eat a vegan diet? Would that mean a more ethical, healthy and environmentally friendly way to live? To many, it seems like the pervasive message is suggesting exactly that. But the strength of these claims don’t hold up to closer scrutiny.
So how do we remedy the confusion? Vinnie Tortorich has created a new documentary, Beyond Impossible, aimed at pointing out the flaws in the arguments for promoting broader acceptance of veganism. His characteristic “no-nonsense” approach is a raw and honest dive into the debate.
Simon Hill, author of Plant Proof and an advocate of plant-based eating, also joins us on this episode. Simon offers a different perspective on veganism, but does so in a reasonable and balanced way. He is concerned about how extreme some of the vegan messaging has become, and he wants us to see through the misdirection to understand better how a more plant-based diet can help us improve our health and environment.
In the end, it isn’t about us telling you who is “right” or “wrong.” Instead, it is about seeing the discussion from a broader perspective and focusing on a more reasonable approach.
